Works such as Irshad, Ziynat al-Qulub, and The Path of Love, The Way of Union
published numerous times in Turkish and in Western languages together with his
discourses and ilahis, have influenced large audiences both in Turkey and abroad. Muzaffer Ozak is the 19th postnişin of the Halveti-Jarrahi Tariqa, a lineage that
continues the Turkish Sufi tradition. Muzaffer Efendi was a murshid-i kamil who made it his principle to convey Islam through the lens of Sufism. His book shop in Istanbul's Sahaflar Çarşısı became a
center of learning and spiritual refinement, a meeting point for people of every
background. Owing to his gentle manner, witty style, and tolerant approach, he
became affectionately known as the "Shaykh of the Booksellers." Through the
foundation he established to preserve tekke music, he played a vital role in recording
and transmitting to our day many compositions and lyrics that were on the verge of
being forgotten. Published on the 40th anniversary of Muzaffer Ozak's passing, with a foreword by
Ahmet Özhan Beyefendi, The Book of Muzaffer Ozak, the Shaykh of the Booksellers
presents in its first section Muzaffer Ozak's life and method of irshad; in its second
section, the Jarrahiyya tariqa and its founder Hazret-i Pir Muhammad Nureddin
Jarrahi; in its third section, his Sufi reflections on subjects such as the nafs, repentance, patience, and gratitude; and in its fourth section, valuable information
concerning his works. Written by Betül Işıkçeviren, this compelling volume is an academic study that will help deepen the recognition and understanding of Muzaffer Efendi
